ULTRA PRECISE SPEEDOMETERS:

Two RPS sensors with a known gap between them are installed in the underbody of a train. Both RPS sensors obtain a precise ground-profile while the train moves. The time-correlation of both ground profiles determines the precise time lapse required for the second sensor achieves the position of the first one. In this manner, train speed is estimated with ten times more accuracy than commercial speed sensors (±0.1% accuracy). In addition, RPS speedometer is reliable in snowed environments and is specially suitable for being used in levitation train infrastructures.


BASIC TRAIN PROTECTION & FLEET MONITORING:

RPS provides the position of the train with 1m accuracy without any infrastructure adaptation in a reliable and low cost manner. Our ultra precise speedmeters in combination with the radar signature of the ground profile pre-stored in memory allow to determine the position of the train precisely. The scanned profile of the last meters performed by the train is correlated with the radar ground profile of the complete path that has been previously stored in memory. Theposition information is compared against GNSS data and inertial systems in order to achieve SIL4 requeriments. BTP uses position and speed data for warning the driver in case of overspeed according to the specific speed limitation along the complete path stored in memory. In worst case, BTP can perform an emergency break by activating a SIL4 relay.


CBTC POSITIONING SYSTEMS AND TARGET BRAKING:

RPS technology uses encoded information similar to RPS Series A (enlace a RPS Series A) along the network for Communications-Based Train Control (CBTC) systems. As a result real-time and 1cm accuracy is achieved in a reliable, safety and secure manner. This extreme accuracy allow to reduce headways by defining precise train footprints in moving block systems and for providing an adaptive breaking curve at stations where Platform Screen Doors are deployed.


EFFICIENT SPEED DRIVING:

Autodrive provides taylored solutions for optimizing the energy consumption by setting the optimum train speed in every location according to the infrastruture profile and previous computer simulations. As a result, energy efficiency of freight and passenger trains can be optimized up to 20%.


RPS SERIES T:

Low cost and reliable Safety systems for Trams and Traffic Cars are implemented by using the exclusive RPS Series A encoding solution in combination with customized radar sensors for achieving 1 cm position accuracy and 1% speed accuracy. As a result, smooth acceleration and deceleration patterns can be applied and precise stop at stations can be achieved. In addition, RPS Series T can warn the driver for overspeed and perform an emergency break if necessary.
